For many years telecare has been a reactive service and even with advances in technology telecare has offered little more than it did in the early years. Tynetec however, believe that the greatest potential for telecare is in the introduction of preventative applications. In the past an action has always been required to instigate an alert – now as we have access to data and build up a picture of a person’s lifestyle and patterns of movement, we are in a position to predict their needs.

Within a few years through the increased capacity being offered with BT21CN developments, we’ll have instant access to data in all at home alarms and group schemes. As the gaps between social care, housing needs and healthcare close, this immediate access and ability to predict needs and emergencies will have enormous benefits for all people who use telecare services.
