Tynetec Strengthens Board of Directors

2009 sees Tynetec celebrate its 30th year in business and to demonstrate its confidence in moving forward into an era that will be dominated by the growth of Telecare technology, two significant appointments have been made.

Steve Cornfield will be joining the company and taking over the role of Managing Director and Dave Foster will be joining as Commercial Director. Current Chairman and Managing Director Tony Platten, who founded Tynetec in 1979, commented that “these appointments will significantly strengthen the company’s board and allow Tynetec to immediately push forward with an accelerated growth plan.”

Richard Evans who is General Manager at Tynetec’s Blyth factory and who has over 20 years of service with the company will also be joining the board of Directors. Steve and Dave are well known and respected throughout the industry having over 50 years experience in all aspects of the business. Both act for the industry on trade associations and are advocates of open protocols for communication data. The first practical action by the new board will be the opening of a new Sales and Support office to give a greater presence in the Southern Region.

Tony Platten will be assuming the position of Executive Chairman and will remain active particularly in product development.

Tynetec’s commitment to the growth and potential of Telecare is demonstrated by its position as lead partner in a major ALIP project sponsored by the TSB. Over £500,000 has been committed to the project by Tynetec and its partners and the results of field deployments will start to be analysed in quarter four of 2009.
