Altec Sensors operate on the new European Standard 169 MHz Social Alarm frequency and are battery powered unless otherwise stated.
Personal Pendant Worn on the person, one press of the red button will raise an emergency call from anywhere in the home or on the scheme. The local Manager or Control Centre can offer the appropriate level of assistance. Supplied with a neck cord, wrist strap and belt clip.
Fall Detector Worn on the person, this will automatically report when the user has a fall. The red button can be pressed at any time to raise an emergency alarm call saving the need for a separate Personal Pendant. Supplied with a belt clip.
Smoke Detector Fitted in the hallway or bedroom, this will provide an early warning of a potential fire hazard with an audible alarm and an emergency call. The local Manager or Control Centre can speak with the resident before contacting the Emergency Services.
Heat Detector Fitted in the kitchen, this will detect a rapid rise in temperature associated with a fire. A local audible alarm and an emergency call is reported and dealt with as above.
Temperature Extremes Sensor Fitted in the hallway or bedroom, this will provide warning of dangerously high or low room temperatures. Extended periods of high temperature can lead to dehydration, extended periods of low temperature can lead to hypothermia.
Gas Detector Fitted in any room with a gas appliance, this will provide early warning of a potentially explosive gas leak. A local audible alarm will sound and an emergency call will be reported. Note, this device requires a 240V AC mains supply.
Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detector Fitted in any room with a gas appliance this will provide early warning of a potential combustion fault which could cause poisoning. A local audible alarm will sound and an emergency call will be reported.
Combined Gas & Carbon Monoxide Detector The benefits of both the above detectors are provided in this single unit. Note, this device requires a 240V AC mains supply.
Flood Detector Placed below a sink or alongside the bath this will help prevent collateral damage by providing early warning of a flood situation.
PIR Movement Detector Fitted in the hallway or living room, PIR’s can be used for Activity Monitoring or Intruder Detection. If no movement is detected within a preset period an inactivity alarm will be raised. If movement is detected when a resident is “away” an intruder alarm will be reported.
Enuresis Bed Sensor The bed mat is placed under the bottom bed sheet and plugged into the transmitter module. This will provide early warning of incontinence when sleeping.
Epilepsy Monitor 2 sensor pads are placed under the bed mattress to monitor arm and leg movements. If a tonic clonic seizure is detected an alarm will be raised. Supplied with a plug-in mains adapter.
Sensor Controller This can be used with an in-bed sensor or chair sensor to raise an alarm if the user gets up an does not return within a preset period. Can also be used with the Remote Controller Mains Switching Kit to automatically turn lamps on/off. Can be mains or battery powered.
Bed/Chair Sensors The bed sensor is placed under the mattress whereas the chair sensor is placed under the seat cushion. The Sensor Controller will calibrate itself for the users weight. An adapter is available for 2 sensors in a double bed.
Pressure Mat A pressure mat can be placed under the carpet or a rug alongside the bed and plugged into a Sensor Controller to set the monitoring periods. If the mat is stepped on a lamp can be turned on and an alarm is raised to a local Carer.
Door Contacts These can be fitted to any door, the Sensor Controller is used to set the monitoring periods. If the door is opened a lamp can turned on and an alarm is raised to a local Carer.
Remote Controlled Mains Switcher Kit The kit comprises 3 plug-in switchers and 1 remote control. This can be used by the elderly or infirm to turn any electrical appliances on/off from their arm chair. Simply plug in and use, also compatible with the Sensor Controller.
Wandering Alarm Keypad The keypad is used by a Carer to arm a door alarm before they leave the dwelling. On return an entry time allows the door alarm to be disarmed. If the person leaves when the door is armed an alarm call will be reported after a short delay. Supplied with a plug-in mains adapter and door contacts.
Door Alarm & Override Keyswitch Fitted outside a residents door, the keyswitch can be used to override the door alarm when a Carer visits. Should the resident leave when the door alarm is armed a call will be signaled immediately. Supplied with door contacts.
Bogus Caller/Panic Alarm Button Fitted inside the residents door, the button can be pressed to initiate a silent alarm call if the resident feels uneasy with a caller. The Local Manager or Control Centre can listen into the conversation and take appropriate action. Also available as a Personal Pendant.
Alarm Pullcord Ceiling mounted in the bathroom, kitchen, over the bed, etc, these can used to signal an emergency alarm call. Pullcords can be hard wired or radio, both have an orange cord to reach floor level and 2 triangular orange grips.
Big Button Switch
This free standing, large diameter pushbutton with non-slip feet can be placed on a table top to signal an emergency alarm call. The force required to activate the button can be adjusted by simply turning the red cover.
Air Activated Switch The actuator pad can be fixed or free standing in a wet area to signal an emergency alarm call. The pad is connected to a wall mounted switch plate by PVC tubing.
Automatic Pill Dispenser The pill dispenser will sound an alarm when it is time for the user to take their medication, if the pills are not taken within a preset time an alarm will be reported. The correct dosage will be made available at the correct time each day keeping the others locked out of sight. The carousel has 28 compartments, the time and number of doses per day are fully programmable.
RNID Smoke Alarm Kit This is designed specifically for deaf or hard of hearing residents. If smoke is detected an audible alarm will sound, the strobe light flashes, a pillow pad vibrates and an alarm call is transmitted. The Local Manager or Control Centre can assess the risk before contacting the Emergency Services. Supplied with a plug-in mains adapter and its own standby battery.
Strobe Light Wall mounted in the lounge or bedroom, the strobe can be activated to alert deaf or hard of hearing residents when the Local Manager or Control Centre is trying to contact them. This device requires connection to a 12V DC power supply.
